What this tool does
The Trunk or Treat Theme Picker draws from seventy specific trunk builds: thirty Bible stories named in full, and forty neighborhood themes such as a pirate ship or a candy factory. Each result is a concrete scene you can decorate, not a vague mood.
How the randomness works
Themes are drawn fairly from the chosen set, without repeats within a single draw. A single pick from all seventy themes is one of 70 equally likely results. A three-theme shortlist from the full list is one of 328,440 equally likely ordered lists.
A Bible-story trunk is a welcome display for a church night, not a method of guidance. If you draw a story, treat it as a decorating theme your team already knows how to teach. Prayer, study, and sound judgment still do the real work.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I keep Bible stories and neighborhood themes in one draw?
- Yes. All themes is the default and mixes both lists. Switch to Bible stories or Neighborhood when your event has a clear lane.
- Is a random Bible-story trunk a sign or a sermon assignment?
- No. Randomness is a way to pick among themes you are already willing to build. It is not divine guidance. Choose a story your church already teaches, then use this tool to break a tie.
- Do you include build instructions and a supply list?
- Each theme names the main pieces so a team can start, but it is not a full craft plan. You still decide budget, weather, and how candy is handed out.
- Can I add our church's own themes?
- This tool uses our curated sets. Paste your own list into the Custom List Picker for the same fair draw from whatever you write.
